Everyone knows what fire detectors in the home do. Everyone knows they do a great deal of silent service waiting for you to burn something on the stove or for Trogdor the dragon to come and start your house ablaze. Not all know how they work, and it is actually kind of cool since it involves radiation. No, I will not tell you about how it works, but you can learn how here. They say it better than I can.
So when was the last time that you checked your fire detectors to make sure that they still worked? Can’t recall? DO IT.
